While working as a sheriff's Deputy in a Cherokee County Courthouse, our client was sexually groped on multiple occasions by a criminal defense attorney. This was not the first time he had touched or made comments to her in a sexual manner.

These touches were not consensual and our client made it very clear to the defendant on these past occasions that his advances were unwanted. But this didn't stop the defendant.

On Nov 17, 2005 the defendant touched our client two times in a very inappropriate manner on her buttocks, in a manner that was more much disgusting than before.

The defendant had also touched other females who worked at the courthouse in sexually inappropriate ways.

This defendant simply disregarded human decency -- and he did this within the confines of a courthouse - where our client, working as a sheriff's deputy, and had the job and duty to protect not only her judge and court staff, but also the public, including the defendant, from criminal conduct.

This had to stop so the Plaintiff took it first to her supervisors. An investigation followed and the defendant denied not only the charges but also denied touching other females in the past.

Our client hired us to bring this case to set the record straight.

Once she did, the defendant then sued her for damages for defamation, alleging that Alisa had slandered him and hurt his reputation.

The jury stated it was an open and shut case.

What really angered the jurors was the defendant's denials of not only this incident but also all prior incidents and these denials were proven by independent witnesses to be untrue.

We are very gratified that the record has been set straight.

We are also thankful to know that Cobb County, with its verdict, wishes to strongly punish and discourage this type of conduct from happening again.

The Jury awarded $18,000 for pain and suffering, despite there being no medical treatment, and imposed a $75,000 punitive damages verdict against the defendant. This is the largest verdict every awarded for a case of this nature.

We believe that this verdict will go a long way in protecting women in the workplace.
