This condition is very common among workers who do repetitive work for most of the day such as operating small power tools on an assembly line or typing. CTS is a syndrome characterized by nerve compression in your wrist that in turn causes pain and weakness in both your wrist and your hands. This increased pressure in the carpal canal squeezes the median nerve in your hand and this squeezing is what causes the weakness, numbness and/ or tingling.
