Injuries Suffered on the Job

There are many types of on-the-job injuries. Just because you didn’t slip and fall, break a bone or sustain a traumatic injury does not mean that you cannot pursue a workers’ compensation claim. As a general rule, any injury that requires medical treatment and that occurs while you are on the job and performing the duties of your job will be considered a compensable injury under workers’ compensation. While this list is by no means exhaustive, the types of injuries you can suffer on the job include strains, sprains, fractures, hernias, shoulder injuries (including rotator cuff tears), knee injuries (including meniscal tears), herniated and bulging discs in your spine, closed head injuries, respiratory problems, vision problems, burns, infections, heart attacks, strokes, hearing loss, and psychological injury (related to a corresponding physical injury). While our firm handles claims in both Georgia and Tennessee, every state is different in terms of what types of injuries are covered under workers’ compensation, and while we can assist you directly with any claims related to Georgia or Tennessee injuries, we can also provide you any necessary referrals should we determine that your claim should ultimately be pursued in a state other than Georgia or Tennessee.
